Profile and Credentials
Joani began her career as an educator, teaching science at the University of Miami and Home Economics in the public schools. She also studied nursing and massage therapy, working in several hospitals in FL and WA teaching yoga. With this experience and education she brings both compassion and science to all her yoga students and massage clients.
Joani Glasser, M.S., E-RYT-500, and LMT, holds a Master's degree in Education. The E-RYT-500 is a title with the Yoga Alliance/ Yoga Registry,. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist WA.State Lic. # MA 10214, and the creator of the highly-acclaimed Yoga CD: Gentle And Flowing - Yoga With Joani. She is a member of the International YogaTherapy Association
Yoga: With 40 plus years teaching experience, and thousands of students, Joani began teaching yoga in Miami, FL in1977, at the request and encouragement of her teacher, Juana Aranus. Then moved and taught in Bel Air, MD, followed by a move to the Bellevue/Renton area of WA where she taught at the Newport Hills Swim & Tennis Club and at Valley Medical Center Fitness Center. She and her husband relocated to Bellingham, WA in 2010 where she now teaches gentle yoga and yoga wellness for the back. She has studied Yoga nationally and internationallyand has been influenced by Lilias Folan, "The First Lady of Yoga" as well as many other fine teachers. Joani has attended numerous workshops, retreats, and yoga conferences in California, the Bahamas, Tokyo, Montana, Houston, New York, Miami, and Seattle/Bellevue as well as Bellingham, WA with inspiring teachers and mentors. She has taken several intensive courses in Yoga for Back Therapy, Yoga for Scoliosis and Yoga Therapy for Osteoporosis and her students have experienced greater mobility and strength.

Massage:Joani has over 35 years experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Her practice has been in Florida, Maryland, and now in Washington. Her speciality is in Shiatsu and Reflexology, and also offers Swedish Massage, Manual Ligament Therapy for specific pain relief in the joints, and Bellanina® Facelift Massage.
She was Vice President of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the FSMTA (Massage Therapy Organization), a volunteer for the Touch Research Institute at the Univ. of Miami School of Medicine. She was hospitality chairwoman for the AMTA conference when it was held in Miami Beach.Joani also received the award of Queen of Hearts from the Eastside Women in Business in Bellevue, WA.
She is a volunteer at PeaceHealth Cancer Center teaching yoga weekly for patients.
Her other interests include swimming, writing, cooking, and exploring the parks and walkways of Bellingham with her husband and their puppy.
